Monsqauz Foundation Newsletter, November 2016

To all members of The Monsquaz Foundation,

It has now passed nearly 4 months since the foundation was created. We have come a long way during this time, but we have an even longer way ahead of us. During the last meeting, it was sadly concluded that we lack member engagement. If we want the foundation to keep existing, this must change. There are an endless amount of things you can do as a member, for instance organizing activities or writing newsletters. We have a rising need for contributors to the newsletter. If you want to support the foundation, please get in touch with us either bringing your own ideas or we will come up with something together. Remember that you are an important part of the foundation and that the success of the foundation relies on you.

Picture of the month winner
The winner of this picture of the month contest is our highly esteemed member Krig. He will be awarded with a one month free Premium Membership. The picture is from a LAN party many years ago and it shows Krig himself along RAMPKORV who is also a member of the foundation.

International Monsquaz Watching Day
There is a scientific consensus that watching Monsquaz is good for you. But if you had to choose only one day per year to watch Monsquaz, it should be December 23rd on the International Monsquaz Watching Day. Sign up and invite your friends to the facebook event.

Quote of the year
Stop for a minute and ponder this quote.

“monsquaz is like 8 or 9 people, half of them are busy people with jobs, the rest are jobless people with depression who struggle to get out of bed”
-dusthillguy

We encourage our members to identify which group they belong to. If you are a full time employee, consider dedicating a few minutes per month for the benefit of the foundation. If you are depressed, we recommend a Daily Exercise Routine™ to get your life back on track.

With this in mind, we would once again like to remind that it’s up to all of us to make Monsquaz great again.

Sincerely,

WASD,
Chairman of The Monsquaz Foundation

Monsqauz Foundation Newsletter, October 2016

To all members of The Monsquaz Foundation,

Time passes as we have now entered the colder months of the year. Leaves are falling, but our foundation keeps growing and things have been kept up to pace. Here's this months newsletter.

Optimisation
Recently our chairman WASD has been working hard at his job. One topic that has come up is optimisation.

Workers at his job processing refunds have been working using slow manual processes. If those processes were to be automated, the company could process many more refunds in the same amount of time, save money, and free up employee time for other important jobs.

This idea can also apply to our daily lives and attitudes. Perhaps there are things which could be optimised, which could save time and energy for more important things. Perhaps you're taking an inefficient route to work, or maybe you have a lot of old files taking up space on your computer's hard disk, or maybe the approach you use when solving problems could be more optimal. If you find something in your life which is sub-optimal, and optimise it, your quality of life could improve drastically

Monsquaz foundation member dusthillguy has been working on a BASIC program for the BBC Microcomputer system, a microcomputer which was popular in the 1980s. This program draws a picture on the screen in the BBC microcomputer's graphics mode 1, which has a resolution of 320x256 with 4 colours. With help from users of the Stardot forum, the program was optimised. A picture that would have taken 60 seconds to draw now takes only 56 seconds. More information on this can be found at the Stardot forum thread: http://www.stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12034

November meetup
On Friday, November 25th, we will gather at club Nefertiti in Gothenburg, Sweden, to enjoy some sweet Jazz music. We have chosen that evening because they host the event "This is art pop" with only a 80 SEK entrance fee. Contact us at least a week in advance in you would like to join us.

Also in related news, highly esteemed member Krig, for his great efforts and continuous will to improve and to support the foundation, has been granted the title Honorary Member of the Monsquaz Foundation.

Picture of the month
We would also like to announce the Picture of the Month contest:
* Submit one picture OR photo that you've made.
* The best picture will be chosen by vote.
* You must submit your picture before the deadline, which is the 18th of November.
* Submit by email to monsquazfoundation@gmail.com with subject "Picture of the month - [your name]"

Sincerely,
dusthillguy,
Youth outreach programme manager

Monsqauz Foundation Newsletter, September 2016

To all members of The Monsquaz Foundation,

Just above a month has passed since our members started their Daily Exercise Routines™. The commitment has been great among our members. We have asked some of them to tell us how they feel about their progress.

“I’ve been following my daily exercise routine for over a month now and it feels great. I primarily do push-ups and pull-ups. Every day I feel a little stronger and my muscles have gotten noticeably bigger.”
— WASD

“I recently bought a really cheap exercise pedalling machine, and it arrived a few days ago. It’s not very good but it works. I try to pedal on it for at least 20 minutes a day.”
—dusthillguy

“These last few months, since I came home from my vacation, I've been getting back into my daily exercise routine properly. I have a small home-gym and work out about 5-7 times a week. Having a home-gym is a really convenient and fun way to make sure you get enough exercise. I have been "bulking" lately, so I've put on about 15kg of weight by eating a lot of nutritious food. Soon I'm going to switch to cutting, so that I lose fat and get muscle definition. Apart from some of my clothes starting to get too tight fitting, it has only been positive.”
—Krig

Meetup
This month, The Monsquaz Foundation had its first meetup in Gothenburg, Sweden. The date chosen was September 3rd in connection with the birthday of one of our members, CatButts. CatButts is a good person with good morals and a much loved member of The Monsquaz Foundation. We also celebrated the Monsquaz facebook page reaching 100 likes. You can read more about the meetup in the blog post.

What more major news are there this month? Our swap compo started a week ago, but has been put on hold because people are too busy at the moment.. And cockmaster has been updated with 12,000 new quotes, reaching a total of 86,000 unique lines of wonder. The upcoming months, more big events will take place so make sure to stay tuned.

Sincerely,

WASD,
Chairman of The Monsquaz Foundation

First Monsquaz Foundation meetup!

Today on September 3rd, The Monsquaz Foundation had its first meetup in Gothenburg, Sweden. We met up in central town and had a great time. Everyone contributed to the warm atmosphere and got to share their interest for Monsquaz.

When all members had arrived and after a short mingle, we headed towards our first destination which was the local farmers market in town. They had a good range of self-grown fresh vegetables of high quality. The farmers were very friendly and helped our members find just what they were looking for.

After the farmers market we took the short walk to the fitness store. Here we found all kinds of supplements to make our rods even stronger. They had good service and bulk discounts so our members all bought something to extend their already healthy diets.

When we were done at the store we walked through town a bit more. Later we decided that it had been a good day and that it was time to go home. Everyone said good bye to each other while being cheerful after the meeting with like-minded people and finally split up.

One of our members, RAMPKORV, doing the Monsquaz pose in front of some Swedish protein powder.
You may ask yourself, why did we go to the farmers market and to the fitness store? Both questions have the same answer, and that is to support our Daily Exercise Routines™. In order to fuel your body for a daily exercise routine, and thereby get the most out of your membership in the foundation, you must also have a healthy diet.

If you have not already started your daily exercise routine, then we strongly suggest it. Refer to previous posts for more information or send us a message if you need help with getting started. We will keep you updated on how our members are progressing, so stay tuned.

See you at the next meetup!

Monsqauz Foundation Newsletter, August 2016

To all members of The Monsquaz Foundation,

It has been two great first weeks for The Monsquaz Foundation. During these weeks we’ve grown faster than ever before. Our member count is now at 12. More members means more work and we are looking forward to staff up and recruit more administrators. Among many other achievements this month, we have also launched this blog. Here newsletters will be published along with various other articles.

Member activities
The Monsquaz Foundation is highly driven by its members. The administration is currently working on planning future activities, but we highly encourage member initiatives. If you would like to organize an event, we will gladly help you out.

Daily exercise routine
The Monsquaz Foundation encourages all its members to form a daily exercise routine. Doing daily exercise will keep your health at optimum levels and allow you to get the most out of your membership in the foundation.

Once again, we would like to welcome all our new members. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

WASD,
Chairman of The Monsquaz Foundation
